Blue Whales vs African Bush Elephants

Although not as outlandish as some comparisons on this site, I thought it be interesting to compare the weight of world's largest sea creature against the weight of the world's largest land animal.

So how exactly do Blue Whales compare in size to the African Bush Elephant?

As our contacts at National Geographic have informed us, the Blue Whale tops the scales at 200 tons. That's 40,000 pounds of massive swimming terror.

An African Bush Elephant is the world's largest land creature. The things weigh around 200 pounds at birth. Talk about labor pains.

When it's full grown, an African Bush Elephant weighs in at an unbelievable 12,000 pounds.

Sometimes more over the holidays. Generally about five to ten pounds.

Now that we have our facts straight, let's do the required math. The computational model delivers a definitive answer. A Blue Whale weighs as much as 3 and a third African Bush Elephants.
